Who we are

This website is the public website of the RSM - Rail System Model, published by UIC — International Union of Railways. Our website address is: https://rsm.uic.org.

Personal data

Personal information obtained through the contact form on the rsm.uic.org website is used only to answer your message and, where you asked for it, to keep you informed about the project. It is not used for any other purpose, and it is never sold or rented.

Contact-form messages are delivered by email to the project team. This website stores no database of submissions and requires no account: there is nothing to register for, and no comments to leave.

You have the right to access, modify, rectify or delete your personal data by sending a message to the Data Protection Officer: dpo@uic.org.

Cookies and audience measurement

Strictly necessary storage is always active. Audience measurement through Matomo is also enabled by default; you can switch it off at any time through the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page.

Audience measurement on this website is performed using Matomo, self-hosted by UIC on its own infrastructure. No data is transferred to Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics provider. Measurement is active from your first visit unless you refuse Analytics in the cookie banner or in Cookie settings.

The cookie policy lists every cookie and every piece of local storage this website uses, what it is for and how long it lasts.

Who we share your data with

We use the following service providers, each acting on our instructions and only for the purpose stated:

• Email delivery of contact-form messages — Mailchimp Transactional (Mandrill), Intuit Mailchimp.
• Website hosting and content delivery — Vercel.
• Audience measurement — Matomo, self-hosted by UIC on its own infrastructure. Measurement data is not shared with any third party.

Embedded content from other websites

Pages on this site may include embedded content (for example videos, images or maps). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor had visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with it if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long we retain your data

Contact-form messages are kept by the project team for as long as needed to handle your request and to document the project's activities, including any obligation attached to its funding.

Your cookie choice is kept in your browser for 13 months, after which the banner asks again.

What rights you have over your data

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you may ask us to:

• confirm what personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy of it;
• correct it if it is inaccurate or incomplete;
• erase it, where we have no overriding obligation to keep it;
• restrict or object to how we use it;
• withdraw a consent you gave, at any time and without justification.

Write to dpo@uic.org to exercise any of these rights. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority.

Access to the rsm.uic.org website

rsm.uic.org reserves the right to suspend, interrupt or modify the access times of the website without prior warning.

The acquisition of the necessary hardware to connect to the Internet and any costs arising from visiting the website are the sole liability of the Internet user.

Compliance with current legislation

The rsm.uic.org website was created and edited in accordance with current French law, and Internet users resident in countries other than France visiting rsm.uic.org must ensure they are in compliance with the relevant local rules applicable.
